Karting suffers great loss of Tom Argy, Jr.
NIAGARA FALLS, NY - Tom Argy, Jr., owner of TCM Racing, president of TAG USA, RIGP Race Director and NASCAR official passed away late Monday afternoon November 10th outside Savannah, Georgia from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Tom and his son Tommy (18) travelling from the NASCAR race in Rockingham, North Carolina were on their way to Homestead, Florida to work the next NASCAR event. Bob Palladichuk, long-time friend and associate, reported that Tommy is in stable condition in Memorial Center Hospital in Savannah, Georgia with a possible concussion and bruising.
Tom is survived by his wife Sarah, daughter Allisa and son Tommy. The Argy family lives in Niagara Falls, New York.
Tom was involved in karting throughout the years at all levels of the sport as well as many different roles behind the scenes. Recent years have seen him performing as race director for many of the national karting events across the country. He is best known in his long-time role as race director of the historic Rock Island Grand Prix and for creating and running the new TAG USA program developed for the 125cc electric-start karts.
