Mike Manning & Avanti headed to Cairo

ROSAMOND, CA - Mike Manning will be racing an Avanti at the Rotax world Finals in Egypt in January. Manning, who finished 4th in the Rotax Grand Nationals in Texas, was given a special entry for the Rotax World Finals in Egypt in January. Joe Ramos of SSC Racing petitioned Rotax to give the United States another spot on the world entry list because of a last minute rule change that effected Mike Manning.

Originally the top 2 drivers in International and the top 35 year-old and over driver was given an automatic entry; but the rule changed at the last minute, unbeknown to Manning until the driver's meeting, giving the top 3 overall in international a spot on the United State's Team in Cairo. Therefore when Manning found out about the rule change during the driver's meeting on race day, he was a little disappointed. But being the champion that he is he didn't complain since he went to Denton to win not just finish as the best master. After coming so close to making the podium, he asked Ramos if anything could be done. Since, this year's United States Nationals included drivers from Mexico and Costa Rica, Manning thought he had a chance. And thanks to Joe Ramos, Rotax granted the United States another spot, which allows Mike Manning to race at the Rotax World Finals in Cairo, Egypt in January.

Mike Manning, owner of Mike Manning Karting in Rosamond California, has been a fixture in the US karting scene for over two decades. As a driver and team owner he has won countless national titles. This season Manning returned to full time driving in the Rotax Max series, winning 3 Rotax races, including 1 round of the Golden State My-Chron 3 series. Having Manning on the roster will surely help team USA in Egypt and help spread the word on the Rotax Max concept. JM racing is proud to have Manning campaign an Avanti in the World Finals and will lend him full factory support.
