T.J. Koutny to drive Birel in 2003ANTIOCH, IL - Once again high expectations are setting in for the 2003 racing season. T.J. Koutny driving for the last several years for Rocket Racing tuner Dave Talbot, has extended their relationship for another year. Last year, Koutny took six out of nine poles in the IRA's Shifter Kart Pro Series. "It has been a great ride," says T.J.. In addition to Dave Talbot's expertise and a long relationship with MRP, T.J. has decided to spend the 2003 season on a new Birel Chassis. This decision came from the long time commitment to the sport on the behalf of MRP, but more specifically Gary Lobaugh. And also taking into account that MRP has put many top drivers up front, from their chassis tuning capabilities, and their track support for optimizing your karts performance. T.J. said that he feels confident with the presence of dedication and persistence from MRP. Setting up for the 2003 season on a Birel Chassis/TM ICC Engine tuned by Dave Talbot of Rocket Racing, Dave's commitment and love for the sport shows that the only place is up front. Dave has had extensive training on the ICC motors, spending a lot of time last year in Italy training on the ICC engine and carburetors. Dave is always ready and devoted to learning more and doesn't throw out any possibilities. In the very near future all Rocket Racing will have even more possibilities with an in-house Dyno. Tim's 2003 race schedule includes running with the finest enduro drivers in the country. The Championship Enduro Series, has shown time after time, again and again, to draw the stiffest competition. The Series' events this in 2003 should be the best they have ever been with several clubs and organization working together to give the competitors what they want. Although things may not always be perfect the show gets better and better. Also in quest for this season is the "Rock" for T.J.. After getting spanked last year, "that is not an option this year" T.J. said. T.J. has had nine years of enduro experience and chooses Rock Island for his first short track race. " A bit optimistic" he stated. T. J. believes it was a great experience, gives new goals, and aspirations to meet. T.J. is looking for another win to kick off their 2003 season, for the third year in a row, time will tell. |
