Clardy Kart Speedway set for outstanding 2003
By Judy Smith
PARIS, TX - Clardy Kart Speedway is beginning its second year of racing after a great finish to our first year. We can only hope this year will be as spectacular as last year. The kart count started out low last year, but by the end of the season Clardy Kart Speedway was averaging 30 to 35 karts per weekend. The track and the fierce competition has attracted numerous karts and drivers from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and all around Texas to the weekly races. Kart racing is a relatively new sport to the Paris-Lamar county area, but is growing quickly. Paris is known for it's racing history of drag racing, circle track racing, and drag boat racing. So, why not a kart track to condition the new and upcoming racers.
A family owned and operated track, Clardy Kart Speedway is looking to bring some good wholesome fun for the whole family to the Paris-Lamar county Texas area. The track is owned and operated by Doyle and Judy Smith of Paris, Texas.
This year's point season is beginning this Friday night May 2nd and will go through the end of September. Clardy Kart Speedway is an IRA sanctioned 1/8 mile, high bank, clay, teardrop shaped track, it is smooth and fast. The track is a challenging fun track to race. Clardy Kart Speedway offers a class of racing for just about everyone. There are trophy classes for the kids and money classes for the adults. Races start at 8pm on Friday nights to allow travel time for racers coming in from out of town. For racing schedule call 903-784-1247 days or 903-785-5403 nights. E-mail to dsraceteam@bluebonnet.net.
