    Carlson claims first at Grundy

MORRIS, IL - Adam Carlson won both heat races and the feature race at Grundy County Speedway Sunday in Morris, IL on Sunday May 18th. With the warmer weather finally reaching the Midwest after several race weekends dealing with cold temperatures, wind and rain Adam's kart was working well right out of the trailer. "We have been using a pretty conservative race set-up that wasn't working as well as we'd liked in the colder conditions," said Adam. A few changes for Sunday's clean sweep were right on the money for the 13 year-old driver from Lisle, IL. Adam is a regular at the Burris Circle Tour but has been participating in the Burris Junior Pro Series when the race dates don't conflict; both are part of the Burris National Speedway Series.

Eleven karts were entered in Briggs Gold class, one of the largest classes of the event. Adam started fifth in heat one was in the lead by the first lap and held off a challenge by the second place kart of Nick Chipetta. In heat two Adam started seventh and worked his way to the front and was leading by lap three and pulled away from the field. "My lap times were a little slower than the first heat but everybody was slower, the track had tightened up" commented Adam. For the feature race Adam started on the pole, when the green flag dropped he never looked back, he led every lap and won by eight kart lengths, the only challenge has by Zack Axlen and Billy Hulbert who were working together in the draft to get up front. " I'd like to thank the Watercolor Group for their continued support and Premier Performance for the new clutch and gears we have been using." Adam said. The team would also like to thank Burris, SBR Powerplants, Phantom Chassis, Leaf Racewear and Bell helmets. Next race BCT at Rockford Sunday May 25th.
