    • Road America Super Nationals draws over 1000 entries
      The 28th annual Dunlop Tire Super Nationals, hosted by the Badger Kart Club on June 13 - 15 at Road America. The event brought together several sanctioning bodies including host Badger Kart Club, the Mid-States Super Series, WKA regional series, the Mid-America Road Racing Series, KART and the Championship Enduro Series. This event could truly be called a North American championship race with the best racers from all series competing for a national championship and the coveted "cheese cows", which go to the top 5 in each class.
    • Prater and Salerno tops at Road America SK Pro Race
      Round two of the Intrepid Kart Pro Shifter Series was held on Friday, June 13 at Road America on the Super Nationals weekend. Friday the 13th turned out to be a lucky day for class winners Clayton Prater in SK 125 Pro and for Rich Salerno in the ICC 125 Pro class. Rounding out the top three in the SK 125 Pro class were Eric Winberg and Davey Larson. Following Salerno in the ICC 125 Pro class were Oscar Naverro and Anthony Santavy.
    • Margay.com CES opens 2003 at Grattan Raceway
      The first round of the Margay.com Championship Enduro Series was held at the challenging Grattan Raceway on a cool and at times rainy weekend on May 30 through June 1. Rain always seems to be a factor at Grattan and once again the sprinkles arrived to delay the program somewhat on Saturday morning. However, the track was dried out quickly in the morning practice rounds and by combining two enduro races, the full program was held without any reductions in race length.
    • The Shell Extreme Water Show
      Chicago is once again host to the hottest pro freestyle tours in the water LIQUID X FREESTYLE produced by GEM Promotions and sanctioned by the International Racing Association. The sport of professional freestyle jet skiing makes its tenth consecutive appearance at this year's Air and Water Show. The Liquid X Freestyle pro tour rolls in again with 3-time defending National Champion and Chicago resident Gary Burtka leading the pack.
    • Jason Lynch debuts kart in victory at Sr. Champ Kart Classic
      The Nortown Automotive Sr. Champ Kart Classic attracted new and veteran racers alike as the Burris Circle Tour made its fifth stop of the season at the Illiana Motor Speedway. Jason Lynch who started racing with the Burris Circle Tour from its inception a decade ago, returned to circuit and took home the big trophy. Jason introduced a new kart that he designed and built himself and after a few laps getting it dialed in, he ran to a resounding victory.
    • Chiapetta and Morrissey Post Wins at Burris Twin 50's
      The Junior III Lite and Sr. Lite Classes were featured in the Burris Twin 50's, the first special event of the 2003 Burris Circle Tour Season. Sixteen Jr. III's put on the best race of the day with the top seven drivers vying for the win during the grueling fifty laps. In the early going Billy Hulbert and Adam Carlson were the front-runners. Then the chain flew off of Carlson's kart dooming him to watch from the infield while Nick Chiapetta and Tanner Bohlen swapped the top honors for the next twenty-five laps.
    • "Hospice 24" adds fireworks, 'Families' to lineup of events
      Live bands, music, fireworks, kids' rides and family entertainment will be part of the inaugural HOSPICE 24 go-kart race at Jackson Speedway on July 19-20, according to race officials. Sponsors and other supporters responded with donations to help the event include 24-hours of music, a "Mini-24" for kids, a Saturday night fireworks displays, children's rides and games, a Sunday morning chapel service, as well as food and concessions.
    • JM Racing is ready for Round 3 & 4 of the CART Stars of Tomorrow in Colorado
      After an impressive start to the 2003 CART Stars of Tomorrow¹s series, where Andrew Alfonso won Round 2 in ICA, JM Racing/ Avanti have been testing in preparation for round 3 and 4 in Colorado on June 7th & 8th. Sebastian Andrade and Mathias Calderon made the trip from Quito Ecuador to join Californian, Scott Meadow for some testing at Grange Motor Circuit over the Memorial Day weekend.
    • KLEIN TOOLS Great Lakes Region Superkarts!USA
      Results from the June 1, 2003 KLEIN TOOLS Great Lakes Region Superkarts!USA race at Grattan Raceway in Grattan, MI. The series was invited to join the weekends racing by event hosts Margay.com Championship Enduro Series.
    • Canadian driver joins North America stop shifter pilots at Texas Motor Speedway for an East/West shootout
      Canadas top ranking shifter kart pilot Matt Champagne, the 2002 Superkarts! USA SuperPro Rookie of the Year, joins Team Hurricane at Texas Motor Speedway for Round 2 of the SKUSA Eastern Tour. This race happens to also be Round 2 for the Western Tour, making for a unique early season shootout.
    • Fast racing at South Bend with MKK Race #3 and #4
      Michiana Kart Klub's second race of the season started fast and finished fast. As the drivers completed their two heat races, the sun disappeared, bringing temps slightly down and the wind kicking up. Starting with the first heat races, karts were getting caught up and even completely overturned on the raceway.
    • South Bend gears up for excitement with MKK, MWSS, Gold Cup and Red Bull Search in June
      Michiana Kart Klub's Race #4 began with a cold start but finished with heat and sun Sunday June 1st. The morning's 40-degree temps were a brisk wake up for many, but as the skies cleared, the temps rose to almost 80. Two heat races and the feature were on tap for the track, as drivers practiced on the National 1 configuration, the same layout that will be used for the Midwest Sprint Series race on June 21 and 22.
    • New MRP/Birel driver, Tad Funakoshi, makes immediate statement; Wesley Boswell also slated to join program
      The MRP Motorsport team recently ICC driver, Tad Funakoshi, to pilot an MRP Motorsport/Birel for the 2003 season. The California driver has already shown what the MRP Experience has to offer after a successful debut at Infineon Raceway. The Californian will also be joined by S1 pilot, Wesley Boswell, also of California starting at the second round of the SKUSA ProMoto Western Zone in Texas.
    • Courter makes Red Bull Driver Search
      Dustin Courter, one of the four local winners in the Red Bull Driver Search held at the Denver Indoor Karting Facility can indeed be thankful he is one of the final four. He participated in the run-off as a wild card. Dustin did not learn about the competition till May 13th, the last day of the competition. After spending a great deal of time on the phone with organizers of the Red Bull Driver Search and the facility in Denver it was concluded that if he could be at the Indoor Karting Facility in 45 minutes and do a qualifying run that was compatible to the times which had been ran;
    • Stallion moves to new location
      Stallion Racing Products has moved into a brand new facility in Portage, Indiana after a devastating fire at their previous location nearly two years ago. Because most of the inventory and molds were destroyed, everything has been replaced. By making new molds all of our bodywork will have outstanding fit and finish.
    • Stars of Tomorrow announces 2004 class structure
      The Snap-On Champ Car Stars of Tomorrow presented by RACER announced today their tentative core class structure for 2004. Classes for 2004 will be Intercontinental C (ICC, senior 125cc shifter), Intercontinental A (ICA, senior 100cc direct drive), Junior Intercontinental A (JICA), and a new Junior Intercontinental C (Junior ICC).
    • Young racing stars ready for Rocky Mountain High in second Western Division Race in 2003
      Led by many of America's future racing stars, the 2003 Snap-on.com Champ Car "Stars of Tomorrow" presented by RACER Magazine national karting series moves to the Colorado Rockies this weekend (June 6-8) at the CRE Motorsports Park near Colorado Springs. The Colorado contest marks the second Stars of Tomorrow event for the Western Division this year.
    • Current and former 'Stars' drivers making splashes
      Several drivers from the Snap-On Champ Car Stars of Tomorrow presented by RACER are making news around the country. Jonathan Bomarito, of Salinas, California won round three of the Formula Ford 2000 Zetec Championship at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut. Bomarito was one of the original Stars champions back in 2000. Bomarito, who set a lap record in qualifying, drove his Valley financial PR1 Motorsports Ford to a wire to wire victory of the SCCA-sanctioned event.
    • Kevin Glover sweeps Stars qualifying; Doug Boyer in good condition after injury
      Doug Boyer, 16, of Munster, Indiana was in good condition at Memorial Hospital after a freak accident during qualifying severed part of his right ring finger. Boyer was just going out on his qualifying run in the KRT/Boyer Construction kart in the ICA class when he apparently reached over to his engine for an adjustment. Boyer's finger became entangled in the kart's chain drive, instantly severing the finger at the first joint.
    • Stars "Karters of the Year" by puts drivers in Atlantic Car test
      The Snap-on Champ Car Stars of Tomorrow presented by RACER revealed the prize behind the previously announced RACER magazine "Karter of the Year" award to be presented at season's end. The newly-termed "Karters of the Year presented by RACER" will award the top ICC and ICA drivers for the Stars 2003 season with a Team Rahal-Argent Mortgage Toyota Atlantic test.
    • Harraka hits another milestone
      Fair Lawn, NJ racer Paulie Harraka set and another WKA milestone Saturday June 7th during round three of the WKA George Kugler Manufacturers' Cup presented by Bridgestone where 400 racers from the US and Canada competed in the Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts Nationals on the 5/8-mile 12-turn road course at Trane Motor Speedway in Norway, Illinois.
    • Everts pilots Adam Carlson Racing to victory
      Adam Carlson Racing went to Grundy Co. Speedway Sunday June 15th without its driver, Adam. Adam was selected by his Boy Scout troop to attend a weeklong Scout leadership camp. Adam is currently a star scout working to achieve scouting's highest rank, Eagle Scout. With Adam unable to race the team had Jeff Everts drive Adam's kart in the Burris Junior Pro Series race. Jeff is familiar with Adam's team and looked forward to running in the Briggs Gold class since the kart has been working quite well at Grundy.
    • Eventlab integrates results service with AMB's Orbits timing and scoring software
      Eventlab Inc. makes available today, a version of their revenue generating online results service that integrates with AMB's OrbitsT timing and scoring software. Eventlab's automated online results service is easily and seamlessly integrated into any organization's web site. The service attracts viewers to the site by providing immediate, in-depth race results and analysis down to individual laps and drivers. Motorsports enthusiasts love to digest race results online, generating traffic and extending viewing time that advertisers and sponsors covet.
    • Moving on Up
      A few weeks ago I had my first experience racing a formula racecar. I started out by attending the Skip Barber Three-day school at Laguna Seca, which was an incredible experience. The track is awesome, the instruction was great and the area around the track creates a great atmosphere. So needless to say I had a great time. The following week I attended the Skip Barber Advanced Two day School at Road America.
    • Milford Street Race scheduled for first weekend in October
      The 2003 Milford Street Race Planning Committee announced that the 11th Annual Milford Grand Prix Black Top Kart Race presented by the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Milford will be held October 3-5. Last year's race saw a record number of entries from Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, North Carolina and Canada competing on a 1/2-mile course thorough the streets of Milford, DE in 15 classes including a 125cc Shifter division which had the sport's top competitors battling side-by-side at nearly 70 miles per hour.
    • US Shifter Nationals to be July 4-6
      There is only one U.S. Shifter National Championship! The 2003 United States Shifter Nationals (USSN) will take place July 4-6 at the Oklahoma Motorsports Complex in Norman Oklahoma. The USSN was developed as the "championship title for all series", and does not require entrants to be a current member of any karting organization.
    • Herta lands Andretti/Green ride for rest of season
      Open-wheel veteran, and huge friend of karting, Bryan Herta will drive the No. 27 entry fielded by Andretti Green Racing for the rest of the 2003 IRL IndyCar Series season, starting at the SunTrust Indy Challenge on June 27-28 at Richmond International Raceway.
