Last reports received from Jane Winninger at Trane Motor Speedway indicate that Jordan Johnson was released from St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, Ill., June 15, making it a glorious Father's Day for his dad, Tyron and his mom, Jocquina. Jordan, 10, was injured while racing May 24 at Trane Motor Speedway and stayed at St. Francis for 23 days. Much of his time there was spent in ICU and he also went through surgery. He suffered injuries of a ruptured spleen and lacerated liver.

The support from the karting industry to assist the family with medical expenses has been tremendous with over $6,000 raised thus far through a direct fund set up in a bank account and through efforts of a raffle draw held at the WKA George Kugler Manufacturer's Cup race at Trane Motor Speedway this month. Products generously donated by the karting industry to generate raffle proceeds came in from Speed Secrets Memo Gidley, North Star Motorsports, Express Karts and Parts, Intense Karting, MRP Motorsports, My Chron, Digitron, Joey King Racing, Timmy Megenbier Racing, Azzuro Wheels and Taylor Miinch Motorsports and KartSport, More donations are still coming in.

As many of you may realize, this is generous amount, however, it's still a drop in the bucket to meet medical expenses that exceed the insurance coverage. Couple this with the hardship of missed work while Jordan was in the hospital and you've got a tough road ahead. The bank account set up for Jordan is still available for donations and a new fund raising effort has also been listed on eBay in an auction format. For those wishing to make a donation directly, please submit checks to the following:

The Ebay auction idea is from karting enthusiast, Roger Roatch who is in the apparel business with his wife. They have purchased and listed a Fuzzy Wuzzy BearWear robe as an eBbay auction item with proceeds of the winning bid going to the Johnson family. The Roatch family is carrying this promo further though direct sales of all the products on their website. They offer high-end baby and childrenšs apparel such as receiving blankets, layettes active wear, robes and gift sets. For those of you who need to buy gifts for your kids, grandkids, family or friends, you can go to their website at www.fuzzywuzzybearwear.com or www.fwbw.com and they will donate an additional 10% of all sales between now and the end of July by foregoing their sales commission on items sold. Just simply write the words "Jordan Johnson Fund" in the (comments field) when you are checking out of your shopping cart. Tell your family and friends and let's rally around this family.
