    JM Racing's Alfonso dominates at 2003 Guatemalan Winter Cup race

    PALIN, GUATEMALA - JM Racing's Andrew Alfonso represented the United States in the last round of the 2003 Guatemalan Winter Cup race at the Autodromo De Los Volcanes in Palin, Guatemala in the 125cc Shifter Kart Expert class. Alfonso, driving an Avanti-Honda, dominated the event by qualifying on pole, winning both the heat and the main. Adolfo Castillo, driving for RPM Aceleracion in Guatamala, finished second in his Avanti-Honda.

    Andrew Alfonso, 20 from Danville, California, is currently leading the points in West Coast CART Star's of Tomorrow series in ICA, after scoring one win and three second places after the first four rounds. This was his first race outside the USA and he enjoyed his experience in Central America immensely.

    "This was an awesome experience, I'm really glad to have gotten the opportunity to go out of the states and race. The track is absolutely amazing; it's as wide as a freeway, looks like an F1 track and every team has their own garage space in the pits," said an elated Andrew Alfonso.
