Clements Racing Products expands into 2-CycleST. PAUL, MN - Clements Racing Products known world-round as one of the respected 4-cycle "kings" for building championship 4-cycle racing engines for Jr. Drag Racing & Kart Racing has expanded into the 2-cycle racing engines. With the sagging economy, while most businesses are just trying to survive, Clements Racing is still growing. They put together a very aggressive business plan and by sticking to it Clements is the size they are today. Their plan appears to be right on track. Phase I was the physical move of the business from Arizona to a more centrally located facility in St. Paul, Minnesota. Next was the upgrade and launch of the Clements Racing website (www.clementsracing.com) followed by the nearly simultaneous Grand Opening of the show-room and retail store at this new location, all of which support the Karters and Jr. Drag racers of today. "Now it's time to implement Phase II..." boasted owner Dave Billingsley. "With recent acquisition of Assault Motorsports, a national leader in 2-cycle race engines and technology, all of the pieces are in place." Committed to Clements Racing's "must win" attitude there was no question they had to expand their knowledge beyond the average. Scott Cowell, R&D test pilot and supervisor, added, "Through Summit Machine, the new parent company of Clements Racing, we already develop and manufacture high performance parts for Honda, Polaris and Yamaha for use in their motorcycles, ATV's, watercraft and snowmobiles racing programs and have been doing this for years. Along the way, relationships have developed with their engineers and us. They're a hot-bed of information!" Clements Racing drew bits and pieces from these engineers, took these ideas to the next level and applied what they learned to Kart racing and Jr. Drags. Also, they sent their technicians to classes and seminars learning even more of the latest cutting edge of technology so only the best and hottest tricks are what they offer. Finally, they had to test and apply what's been learned in a real-world scenario. Out to the track they went. The results speak for themselves. A handful of first place finishes while maintaining industry-leading reliability and durability. Billingsley points out that it is the attention to detail and quality machining that gives Clements Racing the advantage over the competition and will keep Clements Racing the undisputed innovator in 4-cycle Kart. Jr. Drag Racing and now 2-cycle Shifter, Tag and Yamaha classes for years to come. "We love inventing and developing new products. Every week at the track we're testing and trying something new. I'm not telling what we're working on now but everyone will be impressed! Here's a hint: American-made 2-cycle w/rotary valves? Keep your eyes on our website for details." |
