    Adam Carlson wins Rockford

    By Scott Carlson
ROCKFORD, IL - Adam Carlson Racing returned to Rockford Speedway July 6th for the second time this season, competing in the Burris Circle Tour. Adam had a disappointing finish last time at Rockford when the chain broke while leading the race. This time the team was able to redeem themselves and won the feature race.

Adam started eleventh in the first heat and carefully made his way through the field to finish third. In the second heat he started outside pole, took the lead at the start and led flag to flag. There were a couple of short rain delays before the feature race where Adam would start on the pole. He took the opportunity to try out his F-200 kart during a track drying session and had good results with the new motor.

When the track was dry and the racing resumed Adam was optimistic about finishing up front. At the start Adam dropped back to third and the lead pack swapped back and forth for the lead, with Adam on the inside most of the time running side by side with Billy Hulbert and Jordan Thiel. Hulbert led the first five laps, Adam six through twelve, Hulbert lap thirteen and fourteen, and Adam led the most important lap, the last one. Thiel came in second and Hulbert third. Adam also set fast lap times in the two heat races. The Burris Circle Tour has been using an electronic scoring system at the races this year and the team is able to see race results and lap times after each race event by logging onto www.mylaps.com. "We've been working hard to stay up front "Adam said " a lot of setup work, maintenance, and race strategy"

The team would also like to thank Arnie Jahn from Premier Performance for building us an awesome and reliable clutch, the "Stinger". Adam has been trying different clutch components from Premier and has proven that it is capable of winning races.

Lub-Tek has also been a part of Adam Carlson Racing's success and we greatly appreciate their products. And as always thanks to Tom Allen, "Mr.Watercolor.com" and The Watercolor Group for believing in Adam and giving us so much support.
