SLKA Kid Kart Nationals to be held at I-55 Raceway ComplexThe St. Louis Karting Association proudly announces it's first annual "Kid Kart Nationals". This event, to be held July 26th and 27th, will be a full weekend focusing on our next generation of up-and-coming racers. The races will be held at the SLKA's newly constructed kart track at Missouri's I-55 "Thunder Valley" racing complex in Pevely, MO. Bloomsdale Excavation, the event sponsor, was one of the major players in the construction of this 1/3-mile, nine turn, asphalt sprint track. The schedule of events will include practice and qualifications on Saturday, with a Bar-B-Q Saturday evening, and late-model stock cars racing on the dirt oval Saturday night. Practice session on Sunday morning with racing all day on Sunday. Karts will be divided into four groups by qualification on Saturday, and will run two heat races and a feature on Sunday. All Kid Kart rules will be adhered to as per the WKA Tech manual. All karts will be required to go through a tech inspection. All karts will run a 10/89 gear with maximum rear tire circumference as stated in the WKA rulebook. All drivers running this event will receive a winner's trophy with special recognition going to the top place finishers.
