SKUSA, IRL & NASCAR share Fort Worth in JuneDUBLIN, OH - Within the Ft. Worth/Dallas area is a motor sport facility that attracted the attention of the motor sports world as a whole. This facility hosts approximately 100,000 spectators for the June Indy Racing League event and is second only to Indianapolis Motor Speedway in single day IRL attendance. The Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) will be the host facility for a SKUSA North American ProMoto event this June 6-8. Agreement was reached this past October for a very special ProMoto presentation. This temporary circuit event will be the second round event weekend for both the East and West ProMoto Zones. "This will undoubtedly be a "prelude" to the World Finals with the East meeting the West at this very unique facility" says SKUSA CEO, Jim Murley. "However, the fact that TMS and SKUSA have agreed to run the ProMoto event in conjunction with the IRL event this same weekend presents very special exposure opportunities for over 100,000 IRL spectators expected for the IRL event" Murley continued. Eddie Gossage, General Manager of Texas Motor Speedway, commented "We are excited to add this Superkarts! USA ProMoto race to our IRL and NASCAR Craftsman Truck weekend in June. We believe this will give our fans some truly exciting motorsports entertainment prior to our evening events as well as give them an insight into where open wheel drivers begin their careers." As the second ProMoto Zone event for both regions, competitors on each side will have only one more event weekend in their zones to prepare for the World Final to be held in Norman, Oklahoma in August. As SKUSA considers this Texas Motor Speedway venue truly unique, it was almost a fore drawn conclusion that both zones need to be involved. Ron Miller, Director of Business Development for SKUSA reported "Texas Motor Speedway was a great sponsor of the SKUSA Red River Region in 2002 and now we are extremely pleased that they have agreed to host the SKUSA ProMoto Tour stop. We hope to expand this relationship with TMS over the coming years and I would like to thank Eddie Gossage, Kenton Nelson, David Pakebusch and the entire TMS management team for their help in developing this unique relationship for 2003."
