Exhibitor strength continues as Performance Racing Industry Trade Show joins top 100 of largest trade shows in North America

LAGUNA BEACH, CA - Preparations for the 16th Annual Performance Racing Industry Trade Show continue to take shape as the Show Producers have announced a further expansion at its current site, the Indiana Convention Center & RCA Dome, in the racing capital of the world, Indianapolis. The show will be held December 4-6, 2003. To underscore the show's expansion, the Performance Racing Industry Trade Show was recently named the 82nd largest trade event in North America by Trade Show Week, a trade show industry publication. The PRI Trade Show climbed from 101st on last year's list to its 82nd ranking in 2003.

"The growth of the show is reflective of the health of the dynamic auto racing marketplace," said Steve Lewis, promoter of the PRI Show. "This is a great industry in which to conduct business right now.

"We're very pleased to be included in this important listing," Lewis went on to say, "and to have an independent source confirm what we have been saying for years - that the PRI Show continues to grow based on the support of both our exhibitors and the attendees." The 2003 show will feature exhibits by approximately 1,300 companies in 3,000 booths. The total amount of net square footage devoted to exhibit space is 300,000 square feet.

Trade Show Week produces its annual rankings based on each trade show's net square footage. For 2003, the PRI Trade Show will have an additional 175 booths, which will be located on the second floor of the Indiana Convention Center, in the Sagamore Ballroom, formerly the site of the Opening Day Breakfast and other events. "We hate to break with tradition," Lewis added, "but the demand for space from both new and current exhibitors is so great, and the capacity for us to expand using existing convention center floor space is so limited. But I can assure all attendees that our regular Opening Day Breakfast will go on, but will now take place across the street in the Marriott Hotel Ballroom."

Legendary engine builder and race team owner Jack Roush will be the Opening Day's featured speaker, appearing the morning of December 4*. "We're very excited to have Jack participate in our show, and provide some personal stories as well as his perspective on the motorsports industry," stated John Kilroy, editor of Performance Racing Industry magazine. "I am sure it will be a packed ballroom as everyone will want to hear what Jack has to say." Kilroy added that prior to the start of the PRI Show, on Wednesday, December 3rd, the 7* Annual Industry Roundtable will once again be held. Established by the late Smokey Yunick, the roundtable will be moderated this year by Randy Dorton, chief engine builder for Hendrick Motorsports. He will direct the panelists on a number of pointed and topical issues involving all aspects of motorsports during the three-hour discussion. The site for the Roundtable also will be moved owing to the new booths in the Sagamore Ballroom.

Called the "World's Largest Hardcore Racing Trade Show/' the PRI Show will offer many opportunities for industry members to get together on the show floor, as well as attend Jack Roush's speech, the Industry Roundtable and numerous special seminars and educational programs. Other events taking place during the four-day industry gathering, include the annual tour of Gasoline Alley, where many well-known racing businesses are located, close to the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The PRI Trade Show is open to the racing trade only.
