Karting cares for Karting FamilyMILWAUKEE, WI - Three weeks ago a karting family that has raced at Badger Raceway in Dousman, WI as well as Burris Circle Tour and CES series¹ were tragically killed by a drunk driver. Killed were Bob Brannam Sr. 40, sons Joe 10, and Bob Jr 8; wife/mother Linda is in critical condition. That leaves former racer and step son Brian Hernandaz, 16, to face life by himself. Neither Bob or the driver who crossed the center line (also killed) had insurance. Badger Kart Club has set up a Memorial fund at our bank to raise money. Bob Evans and Kevin Greer have once again set up a raffle site http://www.kartship.com/brannam.html how this works is, you can buy raffle tickets online, the prizes donated will be raffled off after we sell all 280 tickets. Clearly this is dependant on the items we get for the raffle, and if any of you can help here it would be fantastic, but also needed is spreading the word through out the karting sport, if you can forward this to any of your contacts with in the sport it would really help get the word out. Linda has a very long road to recovery and Brian needs to survive through this time. Anyone who could donate prizes, buy tickets or help in any way is very much needed. For info, call Bob Vehring at 414-228-8642 or send donations to 1730 W Lawn Ave. Milwaukee WI 53209. |
