St. Louis Karting Association holds first Oval Race

October 13, 2002 - The St. Louis Karting Association once again moves the spotlight from its sprint track to the one-fifth mile tri-oval for some oval racing excitement. The SLKA will hold a money race for those who would like to race their karts on the asphalt oval.

This flat, 1/5th mile tri-oval has three different radius turns, with three different length straights, which when combined should provide for both good racing, and a challenging set-up.

Gates will open at 10:00 am with races starting at 11:30. Pit passes will be required for everyone entering the pit gate. Pit passes are $10.00 per person plus a $20.00 race fee per class. There will be no charge for the upper parking lot spectator area.

Once again, all karts will be required to use a tire with a durometer reading close to the Bridgestone "YHC" compound. (Approx. 50 durometer) All WKA and SLKA rules will apply to this event. Don't miss this chance to come out and run the newest and fastest asphalt oval in the St. Louis area. This will be a money race with a cash payout for the top three finishers in all adult classes. All kids classes will receive trophies for the top five spots.
