Last lap of qualifying session sets bar for the Formula Mazda fieldLEXINGTON, OH (September 17, 2002 - Good news just in from Mid-Ohio...Jamie Bach and the B-K Motorsports Formula Mazda are on the Provisional Pole after Round One of Qualifying at SCCA's National Championship RUNOFFS! Jamie was able to turn in a fast lasp of 1:27.7 on his last lap of the qualifying session...he went a full second ahead of his time from last year's Runoffs and only .7 seconds off the qualifying track record. Jamie leaves the track today to head back to school at UW-Milwaukee and will miss the next two qualifying sessions (Wednesday and Thursday). Rainstorms are forecast for the next two days which would truly play into Bach's favor, since his pole time would likely stand due to less than optimal track conditions. "We will see what happens," said Bach during a post session phone interview. "We did what we had to do today and we will see if we can get some good luck "weather-wise" over the next couple days. It is important for me to return to school so I do not miss too much class. Then we will return here on Friday and see if we can get the job done during Sunday's race. We are very fortunate to be where we are at right now," closed Bach. Stay tuned! Qualifying updates will be provided each day. |
