Illinois gains new statewide dirt kart series

By Steve Rex November 4, 2002 - Next season will bring light to the new Illinois Dirt Series. This statewide dirt series is in the works and 2003 will be the inaugural year. This will be an eight race series and as of right now it looks like six tracks will be hosting events. The main goal is to have eight races at eight tracks. This series will follow WKA engine rules and will have a Burris tire rule (slicks only). Mufflers will be per track requirement and will be listed on the website soon. For more info on the series' tracks and the latest news check out the Illinois Dirt Karters online at www.illinoisdirtkarters.com. The website is up and running but is still in the works.

Also, Illinois Dirt Karters are holding a contest open to everyone to help out in choosing the name for the series. If your series name is chosen you will receive a $100 Burris Racing gift certificate. Go to www.illinoisdirtkarters.com for all contest info.
