Clay City Kart Speedway takes Kart racing to NASCAR
STANTON, KY - We have exciting news to announce: CCKS has started the 'Win A Ride' Sweepstakes Promotion. Chances are being taken on a 2002 Ultramax Blaze throughout the year to be given away at the season banquet. This kart is an extremely sharp Ultramax race-ready chassis complete with all of the necessary equipment to take to the racetrack. The kart in on display at Bobby Allison's Winner's Circle - an officially liscensed NASCAR collectible store located in Suite 148 at the Hamburg Pavilion. Jay Caskey, the store's owner, has been amazed at the response and interest that this kart has generated. Jay says, "I had been around kart racing when I was in high school when a good friend of mine raced in Berea. But I had no idea that it had elevated to this level of technology and was this large in the area." Jay has been investigating the facets of kart racing and has plans to have a full service kart shop as part of his store by mid-season. With the large amount of information that has been passed out through the store and the number of kart racing magazines that have been sold, Jay anticipates a large number of spectators that will be on hand to see what the sport of kart racing is all about when Clay City opens their gates in May. Jay also welcomes people who would like to sell their used karts to call him. There are several people interested in good equipment to purchase.
As our ad states, we will be hosting the 'Burris Cup Championship. ' This will be a five race series, (count the best four) where points will be accumulated throughout the season as part of our Big Cash Events. There will be no additional entry fee to participate in the series and 100% of the entries will be paid back to the racers as part of our guaranteed purse (no kart minimums). Racers who participate in at least four Big Cash Events will be eligible for prizes, on top of awards they receive based on where they finish in the series at the year-end banquet. Results and pictures from our Big Cash Events will be published locally through Kentucky Karting News. On a national level, results will be published in The Inside Track and Speedway USA Magazine, as well as on the Speedway Karting Internet Magazine sponsored by Burris Corporation and the Burris National Speedway Series. Other improvements to the track that our spectators and racers can look forward to are a new concession stand and restroom facility. That's right, ladies! - No more port-a-pots! The food that will be served will be sponsored by Dairy Queen and will be of the highest quality. Ground has been broken and the block is currently being laid for the walls. Also, additional lighting and speakers are being installed for the track, spectator, and pit area.
Our events will include special events during the breaks to keep everyone entertained. There will be bicycle derbies for the participants in the Junior and Rookie classes, so be sure to get your dad to put you bike in the trailer. There will also be "Hot Dog Eating Contests" and skydivers dropping in from time to time. And wait until you see the new Victory Lane, where winners will enjoy their victory celebration! This is all planned to give our customers a little more than what they paid for.
