Mid States Super Series races at Grattan
By David Cole
GRATTAN, MI - The second round of the 2002 Russell Karting / Dunlop Tire Mid States Super Series stopped at the famous Grattan Raceway. Known as a driver's track, strong winds on Friday gave drivers a challenge to get around the 2 mile course. With the forecast showing rain for Saturday and Sunday, Michigan Kart Club cut back race times on each race and were able to get six of the eight races in on Saturday before the rain came. Unfortunatley the rain continued the rest of the weekend, causing some areas of the track to be undrivable by passenger cars. Due to the weather conditions and the WKA event at Mid Ohio the next weekend, entries only totaled 208.
