Stars-Eracingvision deal falls throughDIAMOND BAR, CA (June 10, 2002) - eRacingvision announced today that its agreement in principle to acquire a controlling interest in the CART Stars of Tomorrow series had fallen through. Financial commitments related to previous sponsor agreements terminally affected the conditions of the new ownership. "As we understand it, the title racing organization for the Stars program had made substantial commitments to back the series. Those commitments represented the operational backbone with which we based our plan and agreement with Stars," stated Glenn Holland of eRacingvision. "This is very disappointing to us, as we had already started to make a positive change to the program. We think the concept of a premier national series based on FIA-CIK regulations is a good one and we will continue to support those efforts in American karting." Bryan Herta, founder of the series, commented, "I'm very disappointed that this new partnership did not materialize. I have a great deal of faith in eRacingvision, and their involvement surely would have helped the Stars program. Unfortunately, commitments from CART have not been honored and that affected the nature of our understanding. I am still fully committed to having Stars succeed. This will not affect Stars running of our regional programs, or of the Road America National or Las Vegas Grand National events as promised."
