LAKE GENEVA, WI (June 6, 2002) - The fourth stop of the Burris Circle Tour thrilled the fans at Lake Geneva Raceway with unsurpassed action in Champ Karts, go karts and Kid Karts all day long.

The feature races got off to an exciting start with the Jr. Champ class getting all mixed up and a few of them on their lids. After straightening out the tangled karts and making sure everyone was OK, Matt Vice jumped out into the lead. Coming into the last corner, Michael Bilderback and Mickey Kudlicki passed Matt and they were running three wide. Matt caught just enough extra speed to pass and take the checkered. This finishing order was Vice, Bilderback, Kudlicki and Gina Mooi.

Trevor Raisbeck, a first time Tour participant won the Jr. Yamaha race in stunning fashion. The entire race was a duel between Trevor and last week's feature winner, Carly Mandarino. The two swapped first and second on almost every lap. Clay Kliem jumped right in and made it a trio in the lead pack. The karts broke apart with just two turns to go and Raisbeck finished with a comfortable margin. Madarino and Kliem finished second and third respectively.

Alex Stumpf was on a tear this week in Jr. 1, leading most of the first heat race and winning Heat 2. After weighing in at a pound light, Alex had to start the feature in the last row, but by the fifth lap Alex had moved into the lead. Alex and brother Ben used the draft to pull away from the field. At the last moment, Ben pulled out and put the moves on Alex. At the stripe it was Ben, Alex, Aaron Katzenberg, Tyler Perteron, Brett Adams and Cody Potter in first through sixth respectively. Three new rookie drivers joined the Tour this week. Tommy Jones, Bryan Deutsch and Andy Bentz all made a great showing in their first race.

Jeff Everts is back to his winning ways, and it is harder to win than ever. With 18 karts in the Jr. 3 Class, the competition is as close as it gets. The biggest lead any kart held during the race was a single kart length and often the top six were jockeying back and forth for position. Last week's winner, Adam Carlson worked his way to the lead in the third lap and hung on until Billy Hulbert spun in the lap 10. Then the karts lined up again and it was anyone's race. Everts made his move - first going inside around Tanner Bohlen, then outside around Carlson. Jimmy Johnson had a battle of his own, fighting for fourth position with Mason Hadley and Matt Atkison. The final results were Everts, Carlson, Bohlen, Johnson, Hadley and Atkinson.

Brett Swedbey ran in front of the Sr. Lites for 14 laps. Coming around the final turn, Jacob Humphrey found an inside line and wouldn't give in. Swedbergy came up right next to Humphrey and in a photo finish Humphrey just barely held on. The rest of the podium finishers were Shane Morrissey, Rich McGill, Jason Lindgren and Brandon Eash.

Anthony Danta had his work cut out for himself, starting in the rear of the pack of the Sr. Medium class. Three laps in, he had already moved into third place and by the fourth lap, he was on the back bumper of leader, Jay Gough. The lead pack of 6 ran nose to tail for a few laps, and then Gough and Danta took advantage of the draft to open a wide margin. Jay's experience showed when he let Anthony pass and gave up the first spot on lap thirteen. Jay knows that at the high banks of Lake Geneva, it is often easier to get a run at the finish line rather than hold off oncoming traffic - and he did just that. Coming down the finish line Jay made the pass to the outside for the win and Danta settled for a strong second place.

In Sr. Heavy action, Danta nailed his setup in the feature race to beat out Dave Budres and Richard Strle. Joe Chiapetta, JJ Adams and Sean Duncanson were the trophy winners in the 4-Cycle Sportsman Class.

Star Champ action was the hottest of the year with any of the top five karts positioned to win. It was Mike Slabenak's day narrowly winning the first two heat races. In the feature, he jumped out to an early lead and held back challenges from Aaron Phillips and Scott Henry. Henry's kart had a problem with a few laps to go and the finish was Slabenak, Aaron Phillips, Nicole Phillips and Jay Walker.

Mackenzie Piller gathered the top points in Jr. Sportsman Champ. Dylan Barbosa and Jessica Kudlicki all took home trophies. Regan Vehring won the Pro F200 Class, Bob Chatten finished second and Ryan Vehring finished third. The next stop on the Burris Circle Tour is June 16th at Illiana Motor Speedway.
