"Bob White named Executive Director of KIC" INDEPENDENCE, Kentucky - Bob White, a 24-year veteran of karting, has been named full-time Executive Director of the Karting Industry Council (KIC). He replaces part-time director Curt Paluzzi who had to step down due to increased business commitments. White started his karting career in 1978 and began racing nationally with the World Karting Association (WKA) in 1979. Racing with his son and grandson through 1995, they collectively won seven National Point Championships and four Grand Nationals. In 1997, White was appointed as the Two-Cycle National Tech Director by WKA. White said he is honored that KIC is giving him the opportunity to serve as Executive Director. "The sport of karting needs a strong body that is willing to take the necessary steps to ensure that our sport prospers," White said. "I will make every effort to help KIC move in a direction that will promote and unify karting across the United States." An experienced businessman, White was president of a plumbing, electrical and hardware supply company for 25 years. He served on the board of the Kentucky Master Plumbers Association for 6 years.
