"Badger Kart Club release 2002 schedule"By Mike Weaver Badger Kart Club will also once again host the Dunlop Tire Road America Super Nationals. This event is the 2nd largest road racing event in America and draws from 850-1,000 entries each year. Karting Road Racers (formerly called Enduro racers) from across North America will converge on America's premier road course, Road America, to test their skills against its 4 miles of "hills and thrills". Speeds range from 70mph to 135mph in the various classes. Awards are given out through 10th place in each class and each class winner also receives the coveted "Cheese Cow". This wax covered cheese in the shape of a cow has become an icon in the road racing world and in some cases is more sought after than the awards themselves! Lastly, Badger will host 18 race weekends to contest the BKC Bridgestone Championship Points series. This series is devoted to the club racer and offers quite a variety of classes for kids and adults alike. Racers start out as early as five years old in the Kid Karts class. There are several classes using the Briggs & Stratton 5 HP motors and Brigg's new "Animal" motor. There is also the traditional Yamaha 100cc classes and the new HPV classes and lastly, there's the 125cc Shifters, which can reach speeds up to 70mph at Badger Raceway. Admission is free to all spectators at the Badger Raceway (except the 2 major events in August). Inquiries can be made to Shirley Howard at 414-398-8903 or visit www.badgerkartclub.com for more info. |
