"NAKA to head Indoor Kart Racing forum at Kart Expo 2002" JANUARY 25, 2002 - Kart Expo management is pleased to announce that the North American Karting Association (NAKA) and Richard J. Valentine of F1 Boston, will be conducting an Indoor Kart Racing Forum during the Kart Expo weekend, February 23-24, 2002. The conference will take place on Sunday, February 24 from 9:00 AM until Noon, at Pheasant Run Resort and Convention Center in St. Charles, Illinois, a Chicago suburb. The NAKA Board recognizes that are problems, concerns and needs arising in the emerging Indoor Kart Racing Industry in the United States and can, perhaps, offer solutions and direction to this newest portion of the racing industry. At present, there are estimated to be 70 indoor kart racing facilities in the US. The discussion group will be open to all interested in opening an indoor karting center, those already operating one and all industry-related suppliers. Mr. Valentine, the moderator of the session, has an extensive auto racing background and is chairman of the MBA Group of Companies, a diverse business conglomerate. Valentine and a group of other investors devoted 3 years and $8 million to the development of F1 Boston, a 106,000-sq. ft. conference/exhibition center that features two indoor race tracks.
