Hurricane Racing appointed PTK distributorNovember 26, 2002 - Andre Champagne, President of Hurricane Racing is pleased to announce that they have been appointed the Eastern Canadian, Mid-West and Eastern USA distributor for the PTK (Paul Tracy Kart). "I have always felt that customers and dealers would like to have a choice in chassis product line. The new relationship between SSC, Paul Tracy, CRG and Hurricane Racing will offer a new level of expertise for the drivers and add future growth potential for our dealers and our company as a whole. The end user will also have many more options when looking for just the right chassis to fit their needs" Comments Champagne. "We have had great success with the MBA chassis but now we will be able to offer new models from PTK and Kali chassis from CRG as well", said Champagne. The PTK chassis is manufactured by CRG in Italy and is a high quality chassis designed with outstanding quality components. The Alien Silver chassis will have components black anodized and carry the PTK insignia on each piece. The complete line of chassis will be available including a new PTK "Hurricane" 4-cycle chassis currently under development. SuperPro driver and 2002 "Rookie of the Year" Matt Champagne will be testing the new PTK 125cc chassis in Florida over the winter months and will head up the PTK driver roster for Team Hurricane in 2003. Along side Matt will be the rising junior star and Sunoco/Ron Fellows Series Formula Junior 80cc champion Robert Wickens who will be competing on the PTK chassis in Junior 80cc, RotaxMax and 4-cycle divisions. "We race at many of the tracks Paul Tracy did when he was developing as a driver. He is from the Toronto area in Canada where we are based. I researched chassis lines and consulted with friends and associates and of course with our main driver "and my son Matt" before making my final decision. It was very clear the PTK chassis was a quality piece and offered our customers an opportunity to affiliate with a great North American driving star. A unique marketing and business opportunity was available in developing the PTK chassis line on the eastern half of North America and we decided to go with it", said Champagne. "The part that I liked the most about associating with PTK is that Paul himself attends many of the important races and is involved with the development of the chassis line with five time world champion Danillo Rossi from CRG" explained Matt. New chassis are forthcoming from the factory and a new PTK team is currently being recruited to represent Team Hurricane at all the series across North America.
