Mid-State Kart Club Awards Season Champs RIVERTON, IL - Mid-State Kart Club awarded their 2002 season point champions on November 9 at the Riverton Eagles Club. The club concluded its 42nd year of continuous operation with a catered buffet banquet followed by the awards presentations. Class awards were given to all club members who participated in a minimum of eight club point races. The plaques were designed by Miller's Custom Trophies and included each drivers racing photo from the 2002 season. Special awards were also given to the most improved drivers, best appearing karts, fast time record holders and several other categories. Following the awards presentation, over 200 door prizes were given away which had been donated, including eight sets of tires. Everyone in attendance went home with a door prize thanks to the generous supporters of Mid-State Kart Club. Tim Sullivan was on hand to present Mid-State with the traveling Track Challenge trophy. The Track Challenge is an event where members from four mid-west sprint tracks are invited to race against each other as a team representing their track.. Mid-State Kart Club scored the most points this year at the event, which was hosted by the 2001 champions Badger Kart Club. Mid-State will host the Track Challenge next year on October 5.
