Bowers wins first in Path Valley Karts By Walt Cox SPRING RUN, PA - Chuck Bowers of Gettysburg won his first every Path Valley feature event in the extra heavy karts Saturday at the Path Valley Speedway Park. Bowers, in the #49, won both the heat and the feature event. He will be 49 years old in October, he said, and added, "the racing is so much fun I feel as happy as a little kid in the kid karts." Garrett Kuhns of Sinking Springs continued to dominate the smaller riders with wins in both Jr. Stock and in the Lites, and Cody Hardesty of Oakland MD won both the medium and heavy features. Nicole Eaton of Mill Creek with more than ten wins in the Sr. Champ caged karts also raced in the Jr. Stock class and said she is considering a switch from caged to flat karts. Burris Racing is the general karting sponsor at Path Valley and Kart and ATV points are updated every week on the Path Valley website. Sunday, August 18, Path Valley hosts race five in the Pennsylvania Dirt Karters Association's State Championship Series. Gates for Saturday races open at 10 a.m. with racing at noon, and gates open at 7 a.m. for the PDKA races. The Path Valley Speedway Park is located in Spring Run PA a mile north on PA Route 641 from the intersection with PA Route 75, halfway between Port Royal and Hagerstown.
