HOMESTEAD, FL (July 27, 2002) - Consistency, setup, team effort, and a good engine lead Dominic Scheer to a first-place finish at Homestead Motor Speedway, and a first-place finish in the Championship. The #11 KartMini driver, racing a Woltjer Comer 80cc engine, kept in front at the start and in the lead for both races.

Homestead Motor Speedway is a very fast track but there is not much rubber on the track so it is a little difficult to keep traction on some corners. Scheer's fastest time recorded on MyChyron was a 35.5. Smooth and fast driving is the key to this track.

"I was able to overcome the starts in both races and pull out in front, and I stayed in front for the whole race. A strong motor is not the only reason that I won, it was also the KartMini chassis, which had very good handling for this race," said Dominic. Teammate Federico Montoya also finished in first place.

"I would like to thank Kartmini of America for all of their help and support, and also Corsa driving suits, and Salomon Bendayan my stepdad," added Scheer.

Scheer stated, "The Florida Championship is over and I have won 1st place. The next race for this series will be sometime next year so look for me to move up to Formula Yamaha Junior class."
