    • "Nervo/Coggin Racing Chassis announces Rage Kart Division"
      The Nervo/Coggin Racing Chassis company has recently announced a name change to the N-C Chassis Co. and will produce karts under the Rage Kart Division. Nervo/Coggin Racing, a well-known quarter-midget manufacturer, has been producing oval karts for nearly three years. They have now combined their kart production into their 50,000 sq. ft. Tallamadge, Ohio facility along with their quarter-midget, junior dragster, and ATV productions.
    • "Liquid X Freestyle aids competitors with Personalized Bottle Promotion"
      Liquid X Freestyle (formerly the Great Lakes Pro Freestyle Invitational Tour) is supporting card carrying International Racing Association (IRA) Pro riders this summer in a unique way! Registered riders can mail in their clearest pictures of themselves to the tour's administrators and the best shots will be printed on insulated re-useable water bottles.
    • "Southern Burris Championships holds Awards Ceremony"
      The inaugural year of the Southern Burris Championships came to a close February 16th at Dave and Busters in Marietta, Georgia. More than a hundred people came to watch as forty drivers claimed their awards. The ceremony got started with Faye Brindle welcoming everyone and introducing the Southern Burris Championship Staff. The floor was then turned over to Dan Hardy to start the awards ceremony.
    • 10th Annual Kart Expo International - "A Blockbuster Show!"
      How do you top last years overwhelmingly successful show? With a blockbuster, sold-out show this year, that's how! And, the 2002 Kart Expo International, held February 23-24 at Pheasant Run Resort and Convention Center in St. Charles, Illinois, was just that!
    • "Mid-State Raceway opens for 2002 season"
      The Mid-State Kart Club has scheduled 16 point races this season with the best twelve counting toward year-end awards. The club owned track enters its 43rd year of operation with sprint racing on the 1/2-mile sprint track and speedway racing on the 1/5-mile tri-oval. Rain moved in to wash out the feature races so points were awarded based on the first two heats.
    • "Burris releases new SS (SolutionSeries) tires for 2002"
      As many of you are already aware of, the 2001 season was not a very good one for many karters and businesses in certain regions of the country. With the advent of tire "cutting" several years ago, racers have seen their tire bills skyrocket and track owners have watched participation go down.
    • "CheeseHeads" unite
      Wisconsin's rookie S1 driver Jesse Lemel, joins veteran Midwest driver's Lyle Longley and Jody Seidler as the newest member of the Wisconsin KGB squad. To round out the effort Sandy Mitz brings his professional racing background to add to the technical side of the team effort as well as competing in G1.
    • "Path Valley opens Burris Karting season"
      The Path Valley Speedway Park's Burris Kart Racing season began Saturday, March 30th with more than two dozen four-wheelers and six dozen karts on the soft, smooth track all afternoon running setup laps and practice races. Promoter Ken Geesey announced that Burris Tires of Los Alamitos, California is the general kart racing sponsor at Path Valley this season.
    • "SSC Racing announces new Rotax Division, Manager"
      SSC Racing, American's leading karting company, has formed a new division to manage and promote Rotax products and racing series, announced company President Joe Ramos. Additionally, Steve Cannon has joined SSC Racing as the new Rotax Division Manager.
    • "Endurance Karting heads to Atlanta"
      This 8-hour race should prove to be a challenge for pros and novices alike and long time racer and Rolex 24-hour winner Jim Downing will show his talent in a kart at the event. At Lamar County a single mistake will cost you several positions. The great banking turn and a set of S's will give many drivers a run for their money.
    • "A KGB Agent's First Year in S1: The Stories of Jesse Lemel"
      Wisconsin's Jesse Lemel describes his impressions of ProMoto during his first year of S1 pro kart racing. First stop for 2002 is Perris, California for the SKUSA Mission Region race after joining the well-known Team KGB.
    • "Leading Edge Motorsports releases new gears & Honda accessories"
      Leading Edge Motorsports have announced the availability of new high quality accessories for your shifterkart. The components are lightweight and are machined from 7075 billet-aluminum. These accessories include 40mm & 50mm "split-type" rear axle gears for the shifterkart enthusiast.

      Leading Edge Motorsports and Greg Bell will have a slight change in his always-successful race team heading into the 2002 race season with Tyler Lewis and Courtney Weeks taking up the SuperPro reigns left behind by Ron & Joe White.

    • "Open PIR Practice session scheduled"
      Drivers hoping to run the J&M Auto Body Shift Kart Challenge at Portland International Raceway will have the opportunity to run another practice session. The remaining open test day is April 12. The previous session was March 22.
    • "Open-Wheel Racing Summit in Indy announced"
      An "Open-Wheel Racing Summit" will be held on May 21-22, 2002 in Indianapolis, Indiana at the Westin Indianapolis. Many top officials will be discussing the mission of the sport, role of sponsors and other important topics.
    • "WKA News"
      The World Karting Association (WKA) website has been updated with pertinent information regarding the 2002 Briggs & Stratton Pro Kart Tour. This includes rules & regulations, contingency programs, purse payouts, sponsor information, and past winners.
    • 15th Annual U.S. Open Indoor National Championships
      Results from the U.S. Open Indoor National Championships on March 15 & 16 at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, New York.
