October - 2001
- MG Tires Championship Enduro Series
The final race of the 2001 season for the MG Tires Championship Enduro Series was held on an unseasonably cool first weekend of October at the GingerMan Raceway near South Haven Michigan. Temperatures were 20 degrees cooler than normal all weekend causing everyone scramble for warmth.
- Delaware Dirt Divisionals
RJ Robinson ended his 2001 Delaware Dirt Divisional Series season with a pair of championship clinching wins at the Robinson Speed Shop sponsored Divisional that lured 122 regional racers from Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and Delaware to US-13 Kartway in Delmar, DE Saturday September 15th.
- Badger Kart Club
Greeted with a crisp fall day September 30th, racers at Badger Raceway converged to do battle in week 18, the final week in the Bridgestone Tire Badger Kart Club Championship points series. Several class championships were up for grabs so everyone knew the racing would be great.
- Burris Circle Tour
The Season Championship races for the Burris Circle Tour at Illiana Motor Speedway had all of the excitement these drivers have come to expect at the Midwest's premier kart racing series. The stage was set for the final event with Mr. Consistency, Joe Moser, coming into the double points race with a strong lead for the overall championship.
- Badger Raceway
The 2001 Track Challenge was held October 7, 2001 on the grounds of the Badger Kart Club in Dousman, Wisconsin. The event included over one hundred drivers chosen from their respective clubs to try to determine the "Track of the Year."
- Karting Industry Council
For the first time ever, the Karting Industry Council (KIC) will represent the karting industry at the 2001 SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show, to be held October 30 - November 2 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada.
- Mid-State Raceway
Mid-State Raceway's final sprint point race of the 2001 season was held October 14, 2001 as club members battled for one last chance to improve their position in the final point standings. A good turn-out of 41 entries participated in the final points race of the season.
- 2002 Kart Expo
The International Racing Association (I.R.A.), the Illinois-based sanctioning organization, and publisher of The Inside Track - America's Karting Newspaper, has signed on to become a sponsor of the 2002 Kart Expo International. The show, "America's premier kart racing show", will be held February 23-24 in St. Charles, Illinois (Suburban Chicago).
- WTC Attacks
McCulloch Motorsports' Michael Harrison told e-KMI last Sunday that both his father and brother are missing at the World Trade Center in New York City. Edward Sr., 89 and Edward Jr., 50, were both at the WTC on September 11, 2001 and have not been heard from since.
- N.C. Speedway Pavement Series
Information on location, costs and awards are relesed for the WKA North Carolina Speedway Pavement Division.
- Badger Kart Club
Every year at the end of the championship season, the Badger Kart Club holds their Clean-up/Fun Day. In order to encourage more members to come out and help get the facility ready for winter, the club also holds a number of different "fun" races.
- North American Karting Association
Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART) reinforced its commitment to extending and growing its development system on Saturday October 13, 2001 by announcing the creation of a partnership between CART and the North American Karting Association (NAKA), featuring an expanded "Stars of Tomorrow" racing series.
- Clingman Speedway
The Mountain Motor Sports sponsored event kicked off Saturday's races at Clingman Speedway and was the final race of the Intimidator Series, a three race event to honor the late Dale Earnhardt. Jeremy McHone blistered the Restricted Jr. field as he won his heat and feature event.
- Dunlop Mid States Series
The last round of the Dunlop Mid States Series had a tough time battling the weather in South Haven, Michigan at the 6-year-old Gingerman Raceway. Rain slowed down Friday practice a few times and cancelled 4 of the 6 races on Sunday.
- Kart Marketing Group
The Kart Marketing Group, Inc., parent company of e-KMI.com, is in the process of organizing a charity fund for families of the victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks on the United States. The name of the charity is "Karting Cares", with 100% of the money collected going to The United Way.
- Patrick Long's Quest
The spirit of Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna lives on in British Formula Ford. No, not Schuey's and Senna's commitment to on-track excellence, rather the duo's legacy of winning championships by deliberately crashing into their rivals.
- Unlimited All-Stars
Pine Hill Speedway in Shippenville, Pennsylvania was the site of the eleventh scheduled stop of the Pittsburgh Circle Track Club - B.R.E. Small Engines - Unlimited All-Sars tour. The track is a hard, flat, 1/8-mile clay surface that is smooth. It usually develops a wide black groove that is just wide enough for two karts to travel around.
- Willis Bothers Racing
The Willis Brothers / CRG Race Team closed out the SKUSA Great Lakes Region season with a joint event with DART Kart Club October 13th & 14th. This event was held on the regular road course at the beautiful Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington Ohio.
- Performance Motorsports/Wiseco

- Woodbridge Kart Club
The bar has been raised again by the club for the WKC End of Year Awards Banquet scheduled for November 17 at the Hampton Inn at Highway 7 and I-85 in Winchester. There will be a special multimedia ceremony to introduce and honor the 2001 club class champions in addition to the rest of the top finishers.
