"Karting Industry Council makes first appearance at SEMA Show"

OCTOBER 4, 2001 - For the first time ever, the Karting Industry Council (KIC) will represent the karting industry at the 2001 SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show, to be held October 30 - November 2 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada.

The SEMA Show is the world's largest show for automotive aftermarket companies, attracting 1,300 exhibitors and 82,000 attendees. This year's show marks the first time that SEMA has designated a special area for karting. KIC will be located in Booth 14903.

"We're very gratified that SEMA has recognized the growing importance of karting," said KIC Executive Director Curt Paluzzi. "Our participation in this event will allow us to gain unprecedented exposure for karting."

Founded in 1978, KIC is the largest independent karting trade association in America. The mission of the 150-member organization is to "Promote Karting Through Leadership." There are more than 100,000 kart racers in the United States and the number is growing rapidly. Nearly 90% of professional race car drivers have risen through the ranks of karting.
