"ShamrockTM Race Karts ceases chassis production"
OCTOBER 21, 2001 - Sheridan Racing Design LLC will cease production of our highly successful ShamrockTM CLL-2001 race karts on December 31, 2001. Sheridan Racing Design will continue to support current owners with spare parts and support just as we have in the past. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the kart racers all over the United States that had faith in our design and engineering ability and purchased one of our race karts. In the five years that we have produced the kart in it's various forms, we have had multiple track champions every year, and to our knowledge most all the karts are still owned by their original owners, with only a handful resold to third parties.
Sheridan Racing Design LLC will concentrate on the design, engineering and production of engine components for the new overhead valve engines that are coming into the karting market. We will also produce F-200 and Modified OHV Engines for kart racers across the United States. Tracks around the nation have indicated that they want Spec Engines built for their OHV Stock classes that vary from the new WKA rules, SRD will be in a position to supply that demand. Our first new product for these new and exciting engines is our Fuel Pump Mounting Kit and Pulse Fitting for the Intek Animal. Many more products will follow in the coming months. Just as the CLL-2001 Race Kart was innovative, our engine parts will push the envelope when and whenever they can. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank a few of the companies that supplied components, engineering and the support that were so crucial to the success of the ShamrockTM Race Karts: Premier Industries Ltd. manufactured our CNC aluminum wheel hubs, sprocket carriers and bearing holders. Martin Custom Products supplied every brake for every kart. Azusa Engineering manufactured every axle that we ever sold. Kettle Moraine Coatings provided the superb powder coated finishes. National Kart News supplied advertising support that was second to none. A special THANK YOU to all the individuals that gave of themselves in helping get SHAMROCKTM Race Karts off the ground, especially Bob Plate, Ed Hatch, Jerry McMullen of Miller Power Equipment, and Jeremy Fair of NKN.
Our goal is to find a company that would like to continue to manufacture the ShamrockTM CLL Race Karts with it's Patented Cross Loading Link front axle with the same high quality and attention to detail that we at Sheridan Racing Design were able to put into it.
