NOVEMBER 17, 2001 - The Woodbridge Kart Club held it's 2001 'Sponsor's Recognition' and 'Championship Awards Banquet' at the Hampton Inn in Winchester Virginia on November 17, 2001. The evening was highlighted by a multi-media presentation of the 2001 WKC season and the introduction of all of the class champions of the year! The media presentation was the handiwork of Allen Redman of CKI Trackside who was also a class sponsor.
During the evening over 185 awards were handed out to the top finishers in their respective classes. Class champions for the 2001 season included; Tim Linthicum; David Goodwin (2); Kent Weaver (2); Brandon Taylor (2); Sean Conlon; Steven Grant (4); Andy Kiker (2); Jack Foster, Jr. (3); Greg Heminway (4); Mark Burt (2); Peter Ludwig (2); Robert Smith; James Donnelly; David Norville; Justin DeSalvo (3); Gary Slahor; Duane Eberhart (2); Phil Jackson; Christopher Reinhardt; Jason Slahor (2); Tom Lutzi; Stacy Anthony; & Greg L'Heureux.
Special Awards were presented to: Alex & Sylvia Vidal Family as Karting Family of the year; Gary Schenkel - Burnt Piston Award; Don Rawlings - Oscar Aubrey Award; Jack Foster Jr. - Larry Dring Outstanding Racer Award; Arthur McKenny - Fatz Davis Memorial Sportsmanship Award; Greg Heminway - Senior Driver of the Year; Mark Burt & Steven Grant - Bill Yeager Junior Drivers of the Year; Bill Anderson - Good Samaritan Yearly Award; Steve Strong - Senior Rookie of the Year; Dan Rossignol Junior Rookie of the Year; Bob Burkett - Hallmark Award.
