"Vintage Karts sought for 2002 KART EXPO"

DECEMBER 14, 2001 - Vintage kart owners are invited to show their restored kart(s) at the 10th Annual Expo International, February 23-24, 2002 in St. Charles, Illinois (West Suburban Chicago). The show is America's premier kart racing show with about 200 booths of new karts and products from around the world.

For the first time since 1993, Kart Expo has allocated exhibition space for vintage kart owners from all over the nation to display their "antique" karts. Karts from the 50s, 60s and 70s are sought for the show. Display space is free to all vintage kart exhibitors.

In addition, the "Art Ingels Trophy" will be awarded to the "Best of Show" kart from each decade. Mr. Ingels is credited with inventing the go-kart in 1956 in Southern California, a phenomenon that quickly spread around the world. His widow still owns the very first kart ever made. All karts displayed will receive a participation plaque.

Kart Expo International will be held at Pheasant Run Resort and Convention Center, 4051 East Main Street (Rt#64), St. Charles, Illinois. Public Hours: Saturday 2/23 Noon to 6:00 PM and Sunday 2/24 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
