ST. LOUIS -- Margay specializes in the manufacturing and distribution of high quality racing karts and related accessories.

Margay manufactures the complete line of their karts and the Tsunami racing karts. These line include: The Syncro A/C. Syncro Blade, Syncro Quad, Syncro Cadet, Syncro SS, Syncro Shifter (125 & 80), the Lynx A/C, Lynx O/TS, Rookie Lynx, Puma F/C, Tsunami Cadet, Tsunami 100, Tsunami 125 and the Tsunami 80. Each Margay kart is constructed with quality equipment and care. Margay uses a Mazak slant turn 15 CNC lathe, a Fadal VMC 20 CNC machining center, a Phoenix PA-10 automatic cut-off saw, a Brown cold saw, a Pines tube bender, several Miller wire-feed and heli-arc welders, two assembly stations and various drill presses and mills. "All of our products are the result of over 30 years experience at constructing winning, high quality racing karts," said Keith Freber, President of Margay Products. The winning is evidenced by Margay customers and team drivers winning classes at major events throughout 1996.

A high quality product is why so many champions ride a Margay. Drivers such as Jason Birdsell, Mike Birdsell, Scott Evans, Scott Sellergren, Chris Shearburn and Jonathon Strohm. Past team drivers include Indy Car drivers Scott Goodyear and Scott Pruett.

Margay is proud to announce that their chassis is now CIK approved and has completed the international homologation process.

Margay is also the distributor for Bridgestone Tires, Douglas Wheel, Gearbox, RLV, Digitron, Yamaha, Bell, MCP Brakes, Horstman products, Caliba seats and steering wheels.

Margay sells only to its network of retail dealers, it is not a retail operation.

Margay Products sponsors classes in both the IKF and the WKA, as well as supporting various clubs, tracks and events around the country.

Margay Products was founded in 1964 as Mar-Kart by Elmer Freber in St. Louis. Their first product was the Mar-Kart quick change gearbox. In 1966, the company was renamed Margay Products. In 1968, Margay acquired the assets for King Kart Company and began producing their first racing chassis-the Sidewinder. In the mid-1970s, leadership of the company passed to Elmer Freber's son, Don Freber. In December of 1990, the third generation, Keith Freber took over and remains today as president of the corporation.

Margay's business hours are 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday.

The 1996 catalog will be available the second week of December, and it is free of charge.

In 1997, Margay is planning to attend most of the WKA Manufacturer's Cup races, all PKA events, the IKF 2 and 4-cycle sprint nationals.

If you would like to meet with a representative of Margay Products, you may do so at the WKA Kart Fest in Charlotte, N.C. in February.
