Rapid Racing
Custom engine building and a full line kart shop that listens to its customers
CLERMONT, IND. --
Rapid Racing is a full service kart shop that has been in business since 1983. It is a full line, full time kart shop with a complete machine shop featuring custom engine building that has led many customers to championships across the country.
Rapid Racing is renowned for its Yamaha performance, but it also builds winning piston port, controlled and Briggs motors. When asked how he can account for the tremendous success of Rapid Racing's motors Greg Wright, owner of Rapid Racing, explains, "Our engine building program is driven by an intense track testing regimen. Add in our climate controlled Dyno facility and you have a winning combination."
Mike Malott, who is the Yamaha Lite Champion and the track record holder in the Central Indiana Karting Association, can attest to the power of a Rapid Racing motor. Other champions include Morris Walton, the Indiana State Champion in Yamaha Lite and the Controlled Stock class, and Greg Wright, who for seven straight years has won the Yamaha Lite and Medium classes at the Mid-States Enduro Series. Other front runners on Rapid Racing engines is Jerry Richards; Scott Packard; Dave Pfeiffer; Russ Ennis; Dallas Dukes; Dave Cook; Ed Victor and more.
In addition to being recognized for their motor building prowess, Rapid Racing also specializes in personal service. That means listening to your customers to find out what they really need, and then giving it to them.
With their large inventory Rapid Racing's customers don't have to wait for the part they really need. It's in stock and ready to go. That means products from companies such as Coyote, Yamaha, Briggs & Stratton, RLV, Horstman, L & T, Bridgestone, Dunlop, Burris, Van-K and many more.
Rapid Racing is involved in class sponsorships with the Mid-States Enduro Series; the Wells Cargo/Dunlop Tire Enduro Series; the Central Indiana Kart Association; and Ben Hur Speedway.
Rapid Racing currently employs four people to help customers with all of their needs. This business has come a long way since it was opened in 1983 by Greg and Becky Wright. "We saw a need for a shop that actually listens to its customers. We ran the business part time for one year before discovering that it was time to go big and full time. The rest is history," said Greg.
Rapid Racing expanded this year allowing them to provide more service to their customers. The new facility now provides a high tech showroom for customers. There is a larger machine shop/work area allowing for improved service and a quicker turnaround time on orders.
The business hours at Rapid Racing are 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and Saturday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Walk-ins are always welcome, and if you can't make a personal appearance phone orders always work as well.
